Welcome to the website of Amigos for Children. Amigos is a recognized Hungarian non-profit initiative helping children suffering from chronic diseases. Our team consists of university students who are eager to make the world a better place. We want to ease the pain and brighten the days of children through learning languages and playing.

We’ve never been in such a crisis - no one has - and we made the decision that Amigos will take a role in the fight against COVID-19. At the beginning we knew that we have more than 170 enthusiastic, young volunteers and we do speak the language of children, especially the ones who are in an isolated and uncertain situation. So utilizing our five and a half year experience we provide two different programs: Amigos Online for kids who stay in hospitals, and Amigos Extra for high school students who are in need of a friend to play and study with. 

Immediately after the introduction of nationwide visit bans, we redesigned our activities. In this new situation we continue our hospital Amigo visits online. Chronically ill kids now need the Amigos more than ever before, thus we are trying our best to help them during the pandemic.
